Marshmallows

Aidyn's description of what we should do with some marshmallows: "Fire them. Blow them. EAT THEM!!"

Like, Fifty Times

"Mom, Kassie's shirt is on backward and I've told her like, fifty times to spin it around and she is not listening."

Sound in My Room

And again, still stalling, same night as the last post, called down from upstairs:
"Daddy. I have a very important question."
"What is it Aidyn?"
"There's a noise in my room."
"Okay. I'll check it when I come up to bed."
"But it says 'Hi' like in the mommy, mommy, mommy video."
"Okay Aidyn. Go back to bed."
"But Daaaadddddddddddyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!........"

Scared

Yet again, a bedtime stall attempt. Screamed from upstairs: "I am scared because there's no parent!"

Fairy Wings With Glitter

At breakfast this morning, quite randomly I might add (although this isn't the first time she's voiced this particular fear, this is the first solution she's offered):
"Mom. You won't ever leave me, right? Because if you ever left me at Monkey Joe's I would have to find a new pair of fairy wings with glitter and put them on so that I could fly and follow your car home."
I'm glad she'll at least be sparkly and girly while finding her own way home after being forgotten somewhere!

It Smells Hot

Yet another example of the way Aidyn uses what vocabulary she has to make herself completely clear. And in this one I knew EXACTLY what she was trying to say!

In the van last night, with the heat on full blast, Aidyn complained, "It smells hot in here."

You Shouldn't Drink a Lot

Aidyn's advice to a very thirsty Daddy (who was, incidentally, drinking root beer):
"You shouldn't drink a lot. It's not good for you."

Twenty Ears

I was discussing something with Donnie the other night at dinner and Aidyn overheard me saying that I had had twenty years to get that right. Her reply: "Mommy....no one has twenty ears."

Turn the Music Up

Ah my musical little one. Who isn't so little anymore....
Today we were dancing to the radio while procrastinating on the cleaning of the living room. Rihanna's "Pon de Replay" came on and I began to sing along. "Turn the music up," I sang with Rihanna. Aidyn stopped dancing, looked up at me, walked to the radio, turned the volume dial to the right, then turned very seriously to me and said, "Is that better Mama?"

Chopped Liver

Overheard while making dinner and the girls were playing on the steps:
"Kassie! That is MINE. It is NOT chopped liver!!"

Not even sure where she learned that term!
