That Red Book

When we first got on the airplane Aidyn asked to see "that red book." I really wasn't sure what she was talking about until she explained, "that instruction book in the seat back pocket." I was surprised that she remembered 1. the book, 2. that it was red, 3. that it contained instructions, and 4. that it is in the "seat back pocket." I reached the book for her and she began studying the pictures contained inside. She asked a few questions about the no smoking sign ("what is that stick?") and about the differing views of the airplane ("is this the same plane from the top and side") and about the oxygen mask pictures ("do you have to close your eyes when you use that?"), but mostly she sat quietly for almost 20 minutes just simply studying the instructions. I didn't think much of it until we got on our next flight where our seats were in the very last row. I instructed Aidyn to walk all the way to the back of the plane and she asked, "Where the slide is?"
